We Love Eurovision night

WE LOVE EUROVISION NIGHT!!

There i said it we are officially out of the closet and have told the world.  Every year we have a Euro vision party at home and really get into the spirit of it all.  We love the Cheese the singing is rubbish the voting is rigged but it is a fun night there are the weird and wonderful to see like 7 foot tall men carrying women on the stage or women they have dresses that elevate them 10 foot in the air.

We love our commentator Graham Norton and his cutting remarks that make us laugh.  Its just a good fun night we we all critic the act, sing and dance along in Sophie's case while daddy places bets and gets half cut.

How does your garden grow May week 3

This week in how does your garden grow, there has been nothing but rain.  Although we have been trapped inside this hasn't stopped the garden exploding in colours and shapes.  Our Bluebells in the garden have all popped out and you can imagine the tiny tinkles as their heads wave in the breeze.

Peacock facepainting

Sophie got a new outfit with a big peacock and new tutu so we had break open the face paint and have a go at some feathers, however i'm not so happy with these designs i think i will have to go away and have a mull on what to do.  We did 2 designs one with hearts and swirls is an utter mess and looks like my face paint vomited on the side of her face i was trying to pick up on her t-shirt with the hearts and i'm really unhappy with the eye area. The peacock feather could be a lot better so i need more practice as well as having a less wriggly child.

Allianz Global Assistance

We had a wonderful holiday where we visited Thailand there was a longest flight with stop overs at Singapore.  On such a long journey we got to know some of our fellow travelers and chatted which was great for passing the many hours stuck trapped on an aeroplane.

For the love of god EAT your dinner!!!

This is a cry for help!!! I know i'm not the only one out there. When ever we go round friends house or see parents out eating with their toddler its the same story total and utter refusal to eat food or picking slowly  by the little darlings sitting round the table.  I don't mean the darlings that are a few months old and are weaning because these little darling will tend to eat anything you shovel into their mouths even if they love to throw it about a bit and re decorate your home in tomato sauce or apple puree. I mean the little darlings that are in the 2 - 3 year old range that have now developed their own opinion of what dinner time should be about and when and what they eat.   Oh there are times when i could just get so mad with Sophie, and i feel like pinning her down and force feeding her the dinner i lovingly prepared for her.

We are at a stage that dinner time can takes over 2 hours to get through with a tag team of mummy and daddy constantly repeating "Put food in your mouth" " "Stay in your chair" "Stop that and eat"

She totally complains that she is hungry, and then when the food comes we go through a pantomime of her hopping off her chair to dance, sing, go to the toilet anything other than eat her food. All her snacking has been stopped but still the charades continues.

Today was a good example it is swim night so i deliberately did dinner early and cooked her favorite so she had enough time to get through eating and we as a family had time to swim before bed time.  2 hours 30 mins later both of us are still  going through the pa lava of eat your food.  To a point that the treat of going swimming has now been remove, followed by huge tears and demands to go swimming, and half a plate of food left.

We have done the if you haven't eaten you food you can just stave thing but this ends up giving poor mummy and daddy more stress and pain as what little evening is now ruined as the refusal to go to bed because she is so hungry, only giving us a work out as we run up and down the stairs which ruins the night.

If you have any tips for good table manners, getting that dinner into little mouths in a timely fashion or stories for kids this age that you have written about and are archived in your blog that you could share to help me or any other mummy out there suffering from or with the same problem. you can place these below in either the comment section or my FIRST ever link up party.  Don't forget to grab my Good life Lounge Button.

Aston Clinton village fair

It Sunday and its fair day we started out by visiting the boot fair to get Sophie some bargain toys and she found a Beany frog called smoochie, a magic wand, and a Dr's kit and only spent a £1 for the lot, lucky girl.
After the boot fair we headed out to Aston Clinton's annual fair, sorry about the picture quality i took these on my phone and they are not so great.  This year we went as visitors for the first time as the baby is due in a few weeks and i didn't think it would be a smart idea being heavily pregnant selling my soaps.  The fair was busy and there was a nice hustle and bustle about the place.  The atmosphere was lovely with the smell of lots of different foods from BBQ, Indian curries and Paella.  Music was playing from live bands and the sound of happy children running around while contented dads drink beer and watched them as their wives spent money at all the lovely stalls.  The stalls were a great collection as always with lots of clever people that handmade item from cheese, sausages, wine, cider, jewellery, furniture and children's clothes just a few option to look at and i felt a little sad i wasn't there selling my soaps and bombs.  However we went home with a full bag of goodies from many of the stalls.
There were a few rides, teacups and swing boats for Sophie to drag daddy on and i think daddy might be getting old as he felt a bit sick after the teacup ride where as Sophie was over the moon at the having such a great time.  By the time we had gone round and enjoyed the fair Sophie was well and truly pooped out and flopped over some poor ladies handmade furniture to recover, and daddy had to pick her up and carry her before mummy had to get her purse out and buy the table and chairs.

How does your garden grow May week 2

Mammasaurus has started a new linky how does your garden grow. With the long winter and never ending cold it is lovely to see so many bright blooming plants promising bursts of spring and summer.  So here here is our garden in bloom so far although i think the weeds are making a tactical effort to take over.  However Daddy and the veg patch are winning the war with promises of delicious treats for the year.
